crowns

A dental crown is a cap that is placed on your tooth when there is not adequate tooth structure remaining to be able to support traditional fillings. A crown provides necessary protection that is needed to minimize tooth loss. A cap will be placed over the remaining tooth structure after any dental decay is removed.

Until recent technology, this procedure took multiple dentist appointments and weeks of waiting for crowns to be created, which meant having a temporary crown placed until a new crown was made. However, new CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) technology is making it possible for this procedure to take place in a single convenient dentist appointment.
